Relatively, if we want to interact in their world without getting them used to humans then, yes, this is one the most ethical ways we can interact with native species. A lot of people believe humans and animals shouldn’t mix but I’m not one of them. I believe in order to have true security on this planet we need to make meaningful relationships with all species.
Is this Safe for the Animals?
As long as the Spy Robot animal is accepted into the pack or community then there are no dangerous of the wild animals consuming the robot.. not that they would like the taste. Being deceived is probably the biggest issue but these people are not trying to get the animals to trust them, just the robot.
